What it does

Overview

Library score, health checks, library & safety status, and a fix queue that shows exactly what will change.

Repair

Duplicates, missing files, cues & grids, versions, and track ID — fixed with one click, backed by snapshots.

Prep

Gig check, gig run, loudness (tag-only, never re-encoded), and crate hygiene before you play out.

Export

Full change log plus USB & export for Engine DJ, rekordbox, and Serato backup.

Play — Signal

"What's landing" ranks new music by what DJs in your crew are actually playing. Sharing is off by default; nothing leaves your Mac until you opt in.

The safety promises

Installing on your Mac

  1. Download and unzip — you get Crate Doctor.app. Drag it to Applications (or run it from anywhere).
  2. First open: right-click the app → Open → Open. macOS will warn that it "could not verify" the app because this early build isn't notarised yet — that's expected, and only needed once.
  3. Terminal alternative: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "Crate Doctor.app"
  4. The app asks for read access to your Music folder so it can see ~/Music/_Serato_. It never writes to your library until you click a fix.
Early build. This is Phase 1 — 16 of 24 screens are live. Stems, suggestions, transitions, debrief, booth companion, community IDs, always-clean, and account come in a later phase (they show a "coming later" card, nothing broken).
